LFD 30 Years Humidor (6.5×58 / Box of 60)

This year marks the 30th year of Litto and Ines Gomez’s time in the cigar business. As such, the La Flor Dominicana owners are celebrating with a special cigar.

The La Flor Dominicana 30 Years is a special version of La Flor Dominicana’s iconic Chisel vitola, a 6 1/2 x 58 box-pressed size that has unique tapers. Blend-wise, it uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over an aged binder from Cotuí, Dominican Republic and fillers from the company’s farm in La Canela, Dominicana Republic.

Those cigars will get packed in humidors, specifically 60 of the La Flor Dominicana 30 Years Chisels. Only 2,000 humidors are being released. Interestingly, the humidors are actually made at the Gomez family’s box factory, a somewhat new facility that opened recently in the Dominican Republic. Inside the humidor is the company’s classic ad depicting Litto and Ines on horses. The bands depict a flowering tobacco ban, a nod to the bands that the company used in its early days. While this is the 30th anniversary of the couple’s time in the cigar business, it’s actually not the 30th anniversary of La Flor Dominicana, which was founded in 1996. The couple’s first foray into the cigar business was with a brand called Los Libertadores, which was launched in 1994. The two had a dispute with their partner in that company, so they left and started La Flor Dominicana.
